First day of school.
Here’s the selfie of the year for my first last day of my undergraduate degree. It was a great day! And, I got a free cookie that day. Made it even better!

Wow, what a neat experience! I loved seeing all the brethren in their graduate robes and watching the inauguration and swearing in was a neat experience. I think President Worthin will be awesome. He already seems to be loving the new position and is really involved.

This was our booth. I was the only one there for the first hour. I was to recruit people for our major. We didn’t have any candy, and for the longest time I couldn’t get the other sign to stand up and look official because I couldn’t find the clip for the top. Then, Blonde Man and I were manning the booth and he challenged me to go around in 5 minutes and see what fun stuff I could gather up from the booths. Whoever came back with the best swag would win. He won because he got a shirt, I just got candy. But, we mooched from other booths. And, there was this awesome snow cone truck. You got to add your own flavors! :) Stellar idea! I think it would fly away in AZ.

I love playing sports and the way I keep up on it is through intramurals. I have been lucky enough this semester to play on a women's volleyball team and a co-ed frisbee team. I love it! Women's volleyball is now over, and co-ed is starting up next week! Our women's team did well for the limited training we had and the transient players that would sometimes show up. I was the captain and I had to miss the first round of tournament for an information session for a company I hope to work for. It was a tough decision, but so far the decision has been worth it. We lost that first round and then the second round loser's bracket game we lost as well! I was bummed but I got to know some girls in the ward that I probably never would have otherwise. Frisbee is going well, we have won all of our games and I hope we get a good seed in the middle division for tourney...we'll find out this week!
Dinner Groups.
I started up DGs in our ward, which has been awesome! They are the greatest invention and help me stay healthy and happy. I get dinner Monday through Thursday, I only cook once every three weeks, and I get to eat with people. It's been fun and my group is full of people with interesting personalities. I enjoy their sense of humors and the variety of conversations we have. Recently, we have discussed most embarrassing moments and have used youtube as a recent choice of entertainment.
Here is what I made myself when I didn't have dinner group one day. If you know me, you know I don't like tomato soup....but, I was hungry and needed to eat something. I felt justified in eating the grilled cheese if I choked down some tomato soup.
Dates.
So, Baller came to town a while ago to visit his sister and her family. It is strange when the world in Cali crosses with the world here, but it's awesome. Friday we went to the MOA and toured the exhibit where we saw costumes of Hollywood stars...like Captain Jack Sparrow's costume and the dress of the evil step mother on Ever After. Saturday we picked apples at Auntie G's and then spent the rest of the day with his friends and their little families watching football, eating, and playing cards. There were probably 6 children under the age of 5, so by the end of the day my ears were ringing and I was wondering if I would ever be able to handle children...Best story from the event: a little girl comes up the stairs, she's about 3 years old and says to the mother of the other children, "Um, I thought you should know that the little kids are downs stairs playing in the toilet and putting it in their mouths." Instantly, the mothers bolt down the stairs to stop their children. I was dying laughing just at the way this small little girl handled the situation. So funny.
I had a blind date a couple weeks ago with Balloon Man's roommate. I said I would go on this date because another friend needed me to cover for a girl who couldn't go. I didn't know anyone on the date and just showed up. It was at 8PM, so I ate dinner and then went. When I arrived, surprise, dinner was being served. The other girl who came was gluten free and when they handed her a giant plate of pasta, she pulled the plug and let the know. Lucky her, she got out of eating....I had to eat and seem like I was hungry. It was pretty good food, I was just extra stuffed. Then, Balloon Man taught us how to make balloon animals! It was awesome. Here are two that I made:
Game nights.
I threw one and my friend Peru threw a couple. Our game night was awesome! I invited people from every circle of life I have and a man from Reader's circle of life. I made her invite him and we had a super fun night. Probably one of the most successful game nights I have ever thrown.
Parking.
I reverse into my parking spots now, I am getting pretty
darn good. I like being different and pushing my skills. I still need to get
faster, that’s the next step I guess.
Family time.
I went to Karrah and BroLaw’s house and played the game of Life.
I totally dominated, and I was a millionaire by the end which was awesome.
Pretty exciting!
Also, we went to the Bean Museum right before the Women’s
Broadcast with Karrah, BroLaw, Cousin, and her hubby.
Fall.
Reader LOVES Halloween. You can see these decorations went up on October 2, only because she didn’t have a way to get to the store on October 1. They are fun and festive!
Look at these mountains. I just had to stop and take a pic on my way home from church one day.
Also, went to the Mt. Timpanogos temple. I was blessed to be able to help the lady right in front of me do twenty baptisms and confirmations for her ancestors. It was so neat to have the chance to reunite families. I felt so blessed and she said it was a miracle that I was there and able to help her right at that moment.
BYU football is struggling, but I got to go to the game with Uncle and sons. They were fun to be there with and I loved having time with them. I am glad I got to go to this homecoming game my last semester here.
I got to go shooting with Gunman, Smiley, and Reader. I had a blast! We shot lots of guns and lots of things. I shot with revolvers, 22s, sniper looking gun, gun while laying down and looking through the scope to handle the kick. I was so happy to take advantage of the last day of Fall and great company. I needed it! - - wish i had pictures but we had camera problems.
Ward activities.
Here is my first ward activity! Pumpkin Olympics! It was fantastic! Here is a pic of the pie eating contest. We also had bowling and throwing and carving contests. My committee members were awesome and I got to borrow Gunman’s truck which was super fun to drive and it held all 80 pumpkins! Score! And, I felt pretty awesome driving that truck.

Job hunting.
This has taken over a large part of my life. I recently accepted an internship that starts right now for Coca-Cola in Draper. It will be a neat opportunity and I am excited to get going. My first day was on Friday and there is a lot to be done between now and then. I am also continuing to interview for full-time positions at other locations, not sure if the internship will turn into full-time yet. It's been a roller coaster but a lot of fun.
200 Person Stake Choir
I got to participate and sing in a choir with my stake. We performed today and I loved it. We sang Let Zion in Her Beauty Rise and This is the Christ. It was a marvelous experience to sing in the Marriott Center for 14 other Provo stakes and Elder Ballard. He also gave a fantastic talk. He spoke about making sure you take care of the little things in life. He was so down to earth with us. Elder Ballard reminded us to frequently interview ourselves with Heavenly Father to see where we need to be and what needs to change. He reminded us to read the scriptures and pray diligently. And, to follow up from his conference talk, he said that boat we need to stay in and hold onto is headed to the temple.
The semester just reached half way and I am holding on tight. A lot needs to be done between now and the end. But, I feel so blessed. I feel the Lord working little miracles every day in my life and my family's lives. I feel the love of the Savior. I know as I have put him first the times go much better and simpler.
