Snow Adventures

This week has flown by! It has been full of adventures though. I went to an information session and they told me once again that I am too young to apply for an internship…I have been hearing that for the past two year…I have just as much or more experience than the people they will hire, yet they won’t even consider me because I graduate a semester later. Those crazy people. Brother said they were dumb, and I agree.

Last week, we had an innertube water polo game! I am on a team with my ward and we DOMINATED!!!!!! 42-4. Homee and I discovered that if you lift up your feet and turn yourself with your hands, you can spin really fast!! It was so much fun, I did that for most of the second half while I was on defense. It was a really fun game.

Saturday, I had an Aspen Grove reunion. Lunch was served and it was delicious!!! I loved it and it was free so I just wanted to keep eatin. After I finished, we went cross-country skiing. I had never been before, and it was pretty tough! I was already tired from a basketball game that morning so I was doing all I could to keep going. It was the perfect day outside: sunshine, clear skies, no wind, and mountains. And here is where a funny story comes in:

(Use your imagination to picture what is happening)
M, Panda, and I decided that we would ski through this little woodshop shelter thing. It kind of looked like it would be a tall covered bridge or something. Panda went first, and she almost lost her balance going down this short, but very steep hill at the end of the shelter. M went, and she got to the bottom of the 4 foot hill and toppled over. The hill was much steeper than we thought it would be. I waited until a bunch people had passed so they wouldn’t be watching, and then right as I was about to go, M said she went off unevenly and that is why she fell….as she was speaking, I felt my left ski just start going! I tried to get the other ski to go, but it wouldn’t and I fell right on my bum basically at the top of this tiny, steep hill…I was about a foot away from the edge of the tunnel thing. Hahahaha, we each got a little bit less successful with each one of us. I laughed so hard as I was laying on the ground. I didn’t realize pain until I stood up and my tailbone was aching. We didn’t ski much farther and we turned the skiis in for the day. Nothing extraordinary happened while we were snowshoeing, but it was still fun. I had never done either one until that day. By the end, I was exhausted.

Peace Out.

Who did I just go on a date with??

Wow, another week has flown by! I can't believe it. There were lots of funny things that happened. I have started to write little notes so that I could remember them for when I write this post every week.

This weeks funny stories:
#1
Last Friday night, my roommate, Hawaii, gets a call around 6:20 from a kid in the ward that we will call Skinny. He says, hey do you want to go on a double date tonight and does one of your roommates not have plans either?? Since we didn't really have set plans, Hawaii agreed that we would go with Skinny and his friend Bacon (who we didn't know). As we were getting ready, we didn't really know who was going to be going on a date with whom. That's always awkward. They show up, and Skinny is about as tall as me and Bacon is a few inches shorter. So I look at him and think this is going to be another just for fun date with someone shorter than me. Wellllll, we get to Hawaii's car and she hops in the driver seat and Bacon sits in the front....awkward. I thought Skinny was supposed to be on a date with Hawaii. Nevertheless, off we drive and Skinny asks me questions as though we are on a date. Conversation is good and we get to Cafe Rio and it is jammed. So, we decided to go to Subway so the hungry boys could get food faster. Skinny tells me to order first...and note, we still don't know who is on a date with whom. So, I order. What a dilemma though! I don't know whether or not to get a $5 footlong or go for the six inch, because I don't know how much my date is going to eat or pay for because I don't know who I am on a date with! I went with the footlong and then Skinny ordered right after me. The Subway worker asked me, who is paying....I just looked at him and shrugged my shoulders and mouthed, I don't know. He was probably laughing internally at this point. Skinny ended up paying for mine, so I considered that as a sign that I was on a date with him. We went to Bacon's house and played foosball and Ticket to Ride. It was a super fun date, and we laughed a lot, but the whole time I kind of knew that I was on the date with the wrong person. Lesson to be learned: make sure that your date knows that you are their date. It makes things a lot less complicated.

Sunday night, Run and a few other people in the ward came over after the fireside. Hawaii got Nerf guns for Christmas and they were sitting out, and Run decided it would be fun to go attacking apartments. So, we all grabbed guns and ammo and went around the complex knocking on doors and shooting whoever answered. We'd run in and grab the ammo and then leave. One apartment said after we attacked, we wondered what was going on, we heard screams and then we heard them getting closer and closer. Haha, that was us. But, we went to ward prayer and there was this tiny end table...probably about a foot wide and 2 feet long. So, I turned it sideways and Run and I sat on it. Pretty soon, more people started coming, and Steal came and wanted to sit with us on this bench. So I scooted over until I was about halfway off and Steal was halfway on and Run was squeezed in the middle. There was one girl and two guys on this bench probably only made for one person! I sat there, and towards the end of the meeting, I was dying. My leg was starting to cramp from holding myself up for so long! I started fidgeting and Run asked if I was okay. I said I was because I didn't want to make him move, I liked sitting right by him. Eventually Steal got up and left and we scooted back on until we were both sitting pretty normal and then we just stayed there for a long time people watching. :) It was a great time.

Well, that's a long post, but hopefully you find it somewhat entertaining.

Peace Out.

I am a blogger now

Life here in Utah is snowy! It has been snowing since last night, and on and off throughout the day. It is a winter wonder land. I enjoyed the warm weather of Arizona during Christmas break. Coming back to Utah was coming back to below zero weather...not fun. Besides the weather though, I am enjoying being back.

It is different without cousin here as a roommate. I have never not lived with family in college. But, I lucked out with good ones. Kiley is the new addition this semester and she is wonderful. She just got back from her mission a few weeks ago and she is really nice. I think I have most of my stuff organized now, which feels really good.

My school work isn't quite organized yet, but I am working on it. I just need to sit down and get crackin. I will be writing on this blog for the next semester and tweeting...both are required for my class and both I have never done before. Apparently the more you write, the better you get. We shall see.

I feel like blogs are supposed to be funny or interesting or helpful. Each time I am going to try to post a funny story. It will be funny to me and hopefully be funny for the readers. So, here is my funny story of the week:

Tuesday night I went around to the apartments in my ward delivering letters and the monthly Ensign. It is part of my calling. So, I get to this apartment and I feel like I know the guys who live there pretty well. I have hung out with them a few times and have known them for about six months....anyways, Curious answers the door and I said, "Hi Fred!!!" He looked at me like, I can't believe you just called me Fred, so I quickly said, "Oh my, you are not Fred, can we try this again please??" and I motioned for him to shut the door. I paused for a second, and then knocked again. When he opened it I said, "Hi Curious! How are you?!" ...we continued a short conversation and then parted ways. I felt terrible for calling him the wrong name, haha but I am glad that he let us rewind and play again. Phew. Forgetting people's names has happened a lot lately...I need to go back to calling everyone ummm.

Well, that's it. Peace out.
