I try to save lives.

Wow, weeks have flown by. I have had some crazy fun and I am ready for more. :) I love work, and I have exciting new adventures all the time. I call them exciting and I will write about one of them today. Last weekend we had family reunion and boy, it was a blast! I love my family so much and I enjoyed every minute I got to spend with them. They are so great. We met up in Colorado and went hiking, kayaking, swimming, barbecuing, Frisbeeing, walking, and so on. I didn't want to leave, but I have been playing hard since I got back. I have been to Tiny Peaks 4 times in the last three days. Yes, I went twice yesterday. I have just been playing and it has been wonderful! I love working three days and having four days off. Well, my funny story happened at work, so here it goes.

One day, they were doing a blood drive at work, on the 26th floor. It was the last day to donate. I was personally terrified to do so and I always have been. Giving blood has always been a personal fear of mine and I have never, ever had the desire. This drive was different though, I felt guilty for not giving. The afternoon was rolling by and there was about two hours of the blood drive left, and they hadn't met their quota. So, they needed more blood. Prince and Spunky came into Intern Alley and asked if we had donated. We all replied no, but they hounded us to find out why we hadn't. Joy is too tiny to donate, and Writer passes out every time...therefore, the focus turned on me. Prince guilt tripped me into it. He went and found another person who had never done it and said, you can come with her, and you will save three lives with your blood! How could I possibly say no, and lately I have been working on facing my fears...so this was one I could check off the list if I just went and did it. But, I was trembling and nervous. As I looked out at this drive, I realized why I feared it. There are these chairs that many people sit it and give blood. You aren't super far from the other people, so it seems very unsanitary. Plus, as you are sittin in line you see these boxes that read "HUMAN BLOOD. DO NOT EXPOSE TO EXTREME TEMPERATURES." Bleh, oh, doesn't it just make your stomach turn? I tried to stop thinking about that after a while. I just couldn't do it.

Prince left to go back to work once I was up there and staying for sure. Joy was my support system and Spunky helped me out too. They stood by me and distracted me and I filled up the pint bag in 4 minutes 43 seconds...the fastest time my nurse had had all day. I was very proud. I didn't feel shaky, or light-headed, so I was extremely blessed. I didn't even really prepare by drinking lots of water either.

I was sitting eating lots of sugar, drinking water and juice, and talking with Spunky and Joy. We were laughing and then we thought of how we could make up a dramatic story about what happened to me while I was giving blood, so we could get back at Prince. I knew we had to get him to come from the 7th floor to the 26th floor to be able to even pull it off. So, Spunky hurries downstairs and runs into Prince's office and says, "You will not believe what happened to her! They had to stick her a few times, and then it took her forever to fill the bag. She finally finished and she stood up and started passing out. She's probably laying on the floor still!" Prince was beside himself and they raced back up. The whole way up he was feeling so bad, and Spunky did a great job of suppressing her laughter. They rush around the corner to find me eating the snacks. Prince had a very concerned look on his face and said, "Spunky told me what happened (keep in mind I had no idea what Spunky had told him), I am so sorry. Are you okay?" I replied that I'd be alright. He was so frightened for me. Then, we all cracked and started laughing. I told him the truth and he just turned and walked away. We got him sooooooo good. Bahaha, we ran with the story and everyone on the floor was laughing hysterically when they heard the story. Prince is usually the prankster, so getting him as good as we did was an unusual feat. :)

Welp, I have a few more funny stories, but this is all I can write right now. I have to go back to work. But, I hope I made you laugh.

Peace out.

I love old People

I haven't posted in a while because I have been home and starting work and time has flown by. Home was marvelous! Oh, I loved spending time with Sisterbug and Mama and Papa. I love them all so very much. Being home without the rest of the sibs was sad though. This was the first time since graduation that I have actually been home without additional sibs...besides Sisterbug. I went shopping with Mama and found some super cute clothes to wear to work and on dates and things I want to feel very nice for. I helped Nicdog with her children and played with Doubles and ClaraSue. Cola got married while I was home and it was such a joy to attend her reception and see the look of excitement and squeals when she saw I was there. I love when people are happy to see me. :)

Work is going great! I love it. I am also on a ward intramural kickball team and a friend intramural frisbee team. We are tearing it up! Haha, I am terrible at kickball, but frisbee I am okay at. I am tall and I can catch it over people...hence, people consider me good.

As I am sitting here, I am trying to think of funny stories that have happened recently. The only one that comes to mind is about an old man I met at work on Monday. This man turned 95 on Thursday, and he is still coming into work every once and a while, therefore, he is awesome. Fortunately for me, I started work a day that Rudd was working. He is considered Mr. Welfare and he is idolized by everyone in the welfare dept. I felt honored to meet him. He took a good twenty minutes chatting with me. He made me feel like a million bucks.

As we were chatting, sports were brought up. Because many of my highest awards are on my resume, Rudd found out that I was the best player in AZ my senior year. He then hounded me with questions about if I tried out and what not. When I told him they didn't take anyone, he went off on about how everything you can do in life is if you know people. It is all about who you know. People may say it's about skill, but no, it is about who you know and who they know. Rudd has written some awesome books, so my supervisor went to get a couple copies for me for Rudd to sign. While he was gone, Rudd looked deep into my soul and said, "hmmmm, I see you aren't married. Are you dating anyone?" I replied no, and he quickly responded, "well, why not?! are you scared, are you afraid of those boys?" Hahaha, it was all I could do to not laugh hysterically. I replied, "No, of course not. I think the boys are just afraid of me." He thought that was a pretty good answer and soon moved to the next conversation about how he used to be a cheerleader. Haha, this cute happy old man would make the best cheerleader. He signed his two books for me and made sure each time to write my name right. He really liked my name, so he earned even more bonus points. I hope I am like him when I get old, and my husband and I will be like this old couple:

This is one of my most favorite videos. I hope it makes you laugh as hard as I do every time I watch it.  Plus, it fits so well with this post.

I hope you are doing well, and I hope I brought you some joy.

Peace out.

I'm a little like Cinderella

Well, although I am not required to write anymore, I kind of miss it so I will keep up with the stories while I can. I am now home and the semester is complete! Woohoo! Grades were posted, and I passed all of my classes, and that is what really counts. I do have one funny story that happened right before I left to come home and it made me laugh, hopefully you like it.

I'm a little like Cinderella:

So, Zendi is leaving on a mission and she needed to get rid of a lot of her kitchen stuff because she wouldn't be able to fit it in the car on her ride back to Nebraska. Hawaii and I are always looking for free stuff, so down we went to check out what Zendi was getting rid of. I saw 3 large plates, 5 small plates, 6 teacups with matching saucers, and 5 bowls. I was so excited to get real dishes, but I was missing quite a few from the set. Zendi told me the Skeener had taken the other big plates and some small plates. Oh, I was so bummed. Then I thought to myself, maybe Skeener would trade! We have more manly plates and some that neither Hawaii or I are attached to. So, I texted Skeener and asked, "Hey would you be willing to swap dishes? You can be completely honest. I will give you some of my big plates, if I can have two of Zendi's plates. But, if you have some sort of attachment to the green or the dishes themselves, I understand." Skeener was so nice and kindly told me that I could of course trade him. Hawaii and I jumped in the car and headed to his apartment. He had the china sitting on the table and he was giving me 4 plates and a bunch of the medium sized ones. I had only brought him two large plates to trade. He was more than happy to trade though.

We continued with the conversation, and Skeener said when he took the china he thought to himself, some girl might want a whole set. But, other people told him to just take what he wanted, so he did. I realized I was 'that girl.' But, I also joked, so you took the china just to get some girl to come to your apartment and visit you! It is almost like Cinderella. You have the missing china and the girl comes to you to get it back and you are the hero who has the rest of her china! Isn't that precious. We laughed so hard about it. A man steals china to get women. Bahaha, little did Skeener know I would be that 'some girl.' I am grateful I got my matching dishes though, and I told him he could come eat off them at my house whenever he wanted.

These are the dishes I traded for.

The other main event was Karrah graduated from Cougar College!!!!! Wooooo! She is one awesome lady, as you can see.

Well, I think that concludes the funnies for the week. I hope you enjoy it.

Peace out.

THE FINAL BLOG POST (haha get it? final and it’s finals…)

Well, I am so close to being done. One week from now I will be as free as a bird! Yessss! Oh, I cannot wait. Right now I am trapped in the Tanner because I am watching a girl’s stuff and she hasn’t come back for it. She went to talk to a professor about an hour ago and said it wouldn’t be a super long meeting…guess she underestimated how much professors can talk, especially when you have lots to do. This will be my last required blog post…hopefully I will be able to keep up the posting for your pleasure.

Nummer et (Danish)

So one day, I was sitting in the Tanner and I was watching this girls stuff. Little did she know that she was going to be gone so long, and that I needed to print a paper and turn it in by 4:37 on a different floor of the Tanner. I worked on this paper all afternoon and finished about an hour and a half after she left me with her stuff. Earlier, a young gent at a table next to mine asked me to watch his stuff while he went away for a second. I watched it as I sat there, and he came back very quickly. Then, it was my turn. I was now watching this girl’s stuff and I needed to turn in my paper. Since this girl knew the young gent, I just asked him to watch our stuff. I ran up and down the stairs trying to find a working printer. I came back with my report as quickly as possible and the young gent had packed up all his things and was just waiting for me to return so he could leave. Oh, I felt terrible! I apologized, and he said, “I don’t mind waitin for a pretty girl like you.” Hahaha, I did all I could to not roll on the ground with laughter. It was just so funny and he was so sincere! We had a little conversation and then off he went and I had to find another person to watch my things and this girl’s stuff while I went and turned the paper in. Man, who knew it would ever be such a big deal. Thank heavens I am at Cougar College where most people are honest and good.

I hope you have enjoyed this simple story and I hope you have a wonderful week.

Peace out.

Something Nice for the Stressed Ones

A weekend assignment is to find someone more stressed than I am and do something nice for them and write about it. So, I have been looking and searching for an opportunity since Wednesday. I came upon two today.

This morning after I played ball, I knew that Homey and Bernard wanted to eat food and all of us needed to eat food. I also knew they were tired, and probably stressed about things. I have a relatively low stress level right now, so I think their level was higher. After I got to my apartment, I decided to see if they wanted breakfast. I almost talked myself out of it, but then I said, no, I am going to put myself out there, the worst they could say is no. So, I texted them, and they came over and helped me make waffles and we all enjoyed them. They were super funny and so kind to help me bake. Homey pitched in a little more, which was nice and I didn’t have to make the waffle dough all by myself. Bernard did do the dishes, and that was awesome. We have a symbiotic relationship.

Then, this afternoon I was at the grocery store and Hawaii tells me that Comp needs to talk to me. I immediately know something is up. I run over to her apartment as soon as I get home and she tells me that Tiny needs a ride to Urgent Care. Comp is super stressed she did a lot for Tiny yesterday and so she was overwhelmed today even more. I settled her fears quickly and told her I would take care of all that Tiny needed. I took Tiny to Urgent Care and we were there for about an hour. She was able to get everything taken care of and we headed home. It wasn’t at all what I was planning to do this afternoon, but I am grateful I was able to serve Tiny and Comp. Both needed my assistance.

Those were some really simple things and I realized I should be looking outward more often. We should all be looking for others who may need us. Sometimes we are the only ones who can help.

Do something good today. Peace out.

Barney got a TURKEY!!!!

This week has been a little crazy, and I am so excited for the semester to come to a complete end. One great thing is that I nailed my last business law exam! Woohoo! I studied hard for it, and even studied with the professor. I wish he would do that with the final, but I don’t think I will be that lucky. This morning I played basketball with nine men, full-court, for two hours. It was fantastic! I am physically dead right now, but it was worth it. I will now tell my funny story and I hope that you think it is as funny as I think it is.

So, a few days ago, I got a text from Barney. He is a kid from home, well Thatcher. He is also my fifth grade teacher’s son. We don’t really know each other, but we pretend that we do. I always ask him who is going home for Christmas, or vice versa. He wanted to know if I was going home after finals for a while. I told him we didn’t really have room because Mum and Pops are only bringing the small car…it would be a tight squeeze. I didn’t hear from him until yesterday at about 10 in the morning. He sent me a text saying, “hey random question, are you dating anyone?” I responded, “haha no I’m not.” He then asked, “do you have class right now?” I again responded no. So, in my head I am thinking, well, he is either asking me out, or setting me up. Since Mum had asked me just the day before if Barney was engaged, I didn’t really know what to think. Sooo…soon enough he called me and said, hey do you want to go bowling tonight? I said sure and he told me that it was going to be no big deal and there were doing a group date and he needed a date. Haha, it was just so random that he called me up in the first place, and just the whole back stories behind it. For example, I think at my first young women’s dance ever and he was the tallest guy there. His hair was longer and curlier…and I wanted to dance with him. Finally, towards the end of the dance, he asked me if I would dance. I nervously agreed, and as we were dancing, it was super hard to hear what he was asking. I remember him asking me how old I was. I knew he was older, but I wasn’t sure how much. When I said 12, his jaw dropped. Haha, I think he might have been sixteen at the time….and therefore he could not believe he was dancing with a twelve year old. Hehehe. I can still see his face, it was priceless. Now, I am about the same height as him, or possibly a bit taller.

I have been laughing all day because I think it is funny, so I hope you have enjoyed this short entry.

Peace out.

p.s. he really did get a turkey and beat me in both bowling games.

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!

I am writing my first blog post as a 21 year old! Woohoo! I am gettin up there in the years ;) This week has been full of adventures and excitement and some funny things. To begin, Frisbee got married!!!!! YEAHHHHH!!! You could see the joy on his face and Gma's and everyone's who was there. It was a glorious day! I went shopping with Ma for my birthday too. I found a cute maxi dress, a couple skirts, sandals, and a pair of flats. Hopefully all this stuff I will be able to wear for my internship. It was fun to have Ma here and be able to do things with her. She even got to see us play basketball!!!! Woot woot! We are now in the quarter finals of tournament! I WANT A T-SHIRT SO STINKIN BAD!!!!!

Well, I turned twenty one on Tuesday, so you should probably hear the story because it's pretty epic and multiple people told me that my face made it totally worth it....soooo, here it is:

Hawaii wanted to take me to get dessert for my birthday celebration. That sounded fun and all, but honestly, I kind of wanted a party. I told Karrah that and she said I should just go along with what Hawaii plans. I ate lunch with Karrah and HerMan, and Karrah told me that she thought the dessert was just going to be a girl thing, so I went a long with it. Wouldn't you? Hawaii kept telling me how we could do something on the weekend, like broomball and I just agreed even though I didn't really care for the idea...anyways, after dinner group, I leave with Hawaii, Karrah, and Leese to go to Sammy's for pie shakes. MMMMMMM, I got a delicious shake and was almost to the bottom and Hawaii says we have to go back to the apartment to get a textbook for a girl in her class. She received a phone call and said we'd be there in about five minutes. Karrah seemed pretty disgusted that we had to leave to get a stinkin textbook. I agreed with her dismay. We start walking up to my apartment and we plan what to do the rest of the evening. We get to the top and a neighbor comes out and wishes me a happy birthday. I say thank you and we continue to the door. Hawaii had put her key in and dropped her water bottle and so I just decided to open the door since she was probably looking for her friend. I opened the door and SURPRISE!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!  I screamed and jumped back out of the door frame! There were probably at least thirty of my friends in my apartment shouting happy birthday. Bama had set herself in the perfect location for pics but then I jumped back so she missed the surprised look...her pic shows an empty doorway. Haha, my heart was pounding. They had scared me so bad that I didn't even know what to say. The lit the candles and I blew all twenty one of the out. :) Much better than on Sunday when I couldn't even blow ten out. We continued to party all night long and we had two cakes, ice cream, chips, dip, pretzels, licorice...all sorts of yummy food. I have wonderful roommates who fake phone calls and texts and amazingly didn't spill the beans before the party. I had absolutely no idea. I am impressed with all who kept it secret. I was literally scared and surprised when I opened that door. Homey was there taking pictures and so I thought he might have gotten some good ones, but he said he was laughing so hard they are mostly pictures of my legs. Hhaha, I think my surprised look will be a mystery to me forever but a legend to all who saw it. I am glad I could make some people happy, they made me happy, that is for sure.

I hope you enjoyed this story. It was a very happy birthday! I even got to talk with all of my family. The best!!!!!

Well, peace out.
