Surprise!!!!!! maybe...
Sooo, long ago in a far away land of Cougarville, I decided I wanted to surprise Mommy and G-pa and G-ma in Virginia. Mommy was flying in to visit and I wanted to drive up for the long weekend, but I didn't want them to worry...therefore, surprise planning started. I drove up Friday afternoon with Lizzy. She was great company to have along and we had a great time chatting. I know her well and we worked together last summer at AG. The ride was fun and we got to Virginia about the same time G-pa, G-ma, and Mommy were supposed to arrive. We pulled in, and....no car. Oh, I thought, they will be coming soon. I distracted Lizzy by showing her around the farm. She was thrilled and I made the tour last a little long. We began kind of searching for the spare key...no luck. But, no fear, I thought, Auntie K and Uncle J have to be home or at the greenhouses. And, I sent a text to Mommy asking if she had arrived home safely...later she responded saying, No, we stopped in Logan for dinner and a movie. (When have they ever done that?) ...So, we hopped in the car and drove over. I had to go super bad, so I went in the porterpotty...luckily I know they get cleaned and probably rarely used. Anyways, we walked into the greenhouse and I walk to the florist shop and put my head to the glass just looking for Auntie K. No luck. The greenhouse worker asked me what I was looking for...haha, she didn't have any idea who I was...probably thought I was some thief. I asked her if she knew where Auntie K or Uncle J was...she said they were gone. I asked when they would get back and she replied, tomorrow. Of course, the one time I come to surprise, NO one is home. I knew one last person, G and G Stud. We drove up to their house and...yay!!!!! Finally someone was home!!!! We stayed and visited for about an hour and then KT helped me remember where to find a spare key...in the truck ignition...hahaha. But the visit with G and G Stud was wonderful! They are so sweet and they know about Minnesota which is where Lizzy is from. We headed back to G-ma's and found the spare key and took our stuff to the red room. I get a call from Mom, Where are you? she asked. I sneakily said, with my friend Lizzy, where are you? She said she was home and she again asked where are you? This is when I stopped responding and I ran up the stairs...I turned the corner just as G-ma and G-pa were coming into the house! :) Success! The surprise really worked!!!!!! :) :D eeehehehe!!! Mommy was shocked. I loved it. We had a wonderful weekend.
--This is the story from Mommy, as we drove up, G-ma and G-pa looked over and asked, who's white car is that? Mommy said, hmm, wait! That looks like my car! She went over and she investigated and then called me. She said the Mexican beads gave it away. Hahahaha. Oh man. Good times.
Softball
Ok, this one just made me laugh because it is so shocking, and kind of like what?? But, here it is. So, for the past few months we have had softball every Tuesday night. Any games that are at 6:30 or 7:30, I can go since that is the earliest I am back from Salt Lake. So, one day I was feeling extra competitive. The team we were playing was full of a bunch of people that weren't being very good sports...and that never helps my competitiveness. So, I hit the ball, decently well, and made it to first. The girl after me got up to bat and the person playing short stop said, "Hey number 9 hit it to me! I got you out last time." Ooo, my blood began to boil. But, she hit and it was a good hit but they caught it and i got stuck in a pickle between 1st and 2nd base. I barely got out of that, but it was exciting to be in. On the next hit I went to second and they threw to 1st, so I went to third and they overthrew to third, so I ran home...I mean, why not :) Then, the buy at third gets it and purposely throws the ball at me. This kid is good, and he purposely hit me. I was so mad. Haha, but more in shock that he would do that. Then, he came over after I had gone out into the field and talked to the ward on the sidelines. He said, I guess since I hit her, I better ask her out...(I wasn't told this til later)...He asked for my name, but he didn't ask me out. I was the last batter of the next inning and he was out in the field near 2nd base and he said, "hey everybody, watch out, she's got a vengeance"...it was kind of mockingly...I hate being mocked. So, I cranked it and it just happened to go right at him. Haha, I just laughed because it worked out perfectly. He came over and said, whoa whoa I wasn't meaning anything by it...and I replied that I didn't mean to hit it at him, but it just happened...he probably didn't believe me.
Man in Shower
So, at Internville I was asked to call a lot of old people. I had to talk to them and ask them to do a survey. I hate talking on the phone because I am always afraid I will catch people at the wrong time, and I will be a bother. But, when you have to call almost 80 people, you get over that fear...kind of.
I was calling this older gentleman, and when he answers I start giving my whole shpeel and speech of why I am calling him. After I finish, he says, can you call me back in about 15 minutes? I quickly agreed. Then he said, okay great, because I was just in the shower and I am dripping wet! Alrighty then I said, so I called him back in about 15 minutes.
I asked if this was a better time, and he said, "Of course! I'm not dripping all over the ground anymore." I replied, "well that's good." He then asked me, how do you know, can you see me?! Uhhh, no I said. Ok then was the reply. When I asked if he'd take a survey he asked how long it was. When I said about...he interupted and said, too long! And continued to laugh. He just kept a crackin' jokes and then would say well pardon my Thursday morning sense of humor. He said his job was to give hugs. He told a story about when he walked into a meeting and a lady hugged him and then his wife and the lady said, I like hugging him a lot more. He thought that was a pretty great story too. Oh, got to love the old people.
Air Freshener
One day we were all sitting in Intern Alley, and Mr. Janitor walks by. We all say hello, and he seems so pleased that someone actually acknowledged his existence. We chat for a while and then he leaves. One minute later he come back with a can of green apple air freshener and just hands it to me. He doesn't say a word, I say thank you, and he leaves. We still have no idea why we got it...I don't think we smell at all.....
